Well to start, you configure the community strings with Voyager- if you are
running NG, look on the lower left hand corner of the config web page for
the SNMP link. That will let you know your current strings and allow you to
change them.

Subject: [FW-1] MRTG and Checkpoint SNMP
Hi,
I am trying to configure MRTG with Checkpoint SNMP.
I have installed MRTG on a Linux machine and activated SNMPD on my
firewall. I have also added a rule that open communication on the SNMP
and FW1_SNMP ports between my firewall and the Linux machine.
But when I try the following -
./cfgmaker --snmp-options=:260 --ifref=ip public AT x.x.x DOT x > mrtg.cfg
I keep getting an empty "mrtg.cfg" file, I don't get any errors - my
guess is that the community name is wrong but I cannot find the place
where I can configure the community name for the checkpoint SNMPD.
Can any one point me to a documentation explaining how to configure MRTG
with NG checkpoint firewall ?
Thanks,
Eyal Rif
