I tried with checkpoint snmpd on solaris, but I had much better
results with the Sun daemon.
Perhaps you can try to compile the net-snmpd daemon on your linux.

Subject: [FW-1] MRTG and Checkpoint SNMP

Hi,

I am trying to configure MRTG with Checkpoint SNMP.

I have installed MRTG on a Linux machine and activated SNMPD on my
firewall. I have also added a rule that open communication on the SNMP
and FW1_SNMP ports between my firewall and the Linux machine.

But when I try the following -

./cfgmaker --snmp-options=:260 --ifref=ip public AT x.x.x DOT x > mrtg.cfg

I keep getting an empty "mrtg.cfg" file, I don't get any errors - my
guess is that the community name is wrong but I cannot find the place
where I can configure the community name for the checkpoint SNMPD.

Can any one point me to a documentation explaining how to configure MRTG
with NG checkpoint firewall ?

Thanks,

      Eyal Rif
