  It makes sense in a product that can function as a *bridge*.  FW-1
doesn't do that, it's strictly a router.

  As you've found, being able to deploy a bridge with firewall
functionality is sometimes handy -- especially if you're having to
retrofit it into a network that was designed without it.  But
don't try to use FW-1 that way, it doesn't do it.
