If you do not care about keeping any of the logs for historical purposes,
you can just delete everything in the log directory. I would recommend do
a cpstop first. You can also delete the firewall logs from the SmartView
Tracker (Log Viewer) by going to File -> Delete. These files should be
the biggest ones in the $FWDIR/log directory.

[FW-1] deleting log files?

While trying to upgrade from FP3+HF2, the AI install wants to backup
everything. My log directory is huge...so the upgrade fails due to lack of
disk space (as it tries to backup the log directory). Can I simply delete
the entire contents of my log directory or is there a better way to do it?
Do I have to do it through Checkpoint utilities somehow or is there any
critical files in the log directory I have to keep?

thx
Matt
