No, it will not send a bounce. As you saw, the previous MTA will be the
one on the hook. The Checkpoint MTA never accepts the message. It never
becomes responsible for a bounce.

Can you check to see if the Checkpoint MTA is actually handling this
correctly though? The previous MTA seems to think the Checkpoint MTA
rudely broke off the connection. The Checkpoint MTA should have sent
a "552 Too much mail data" or similar response. Also, if we're speaking
ESMTP (can't the Checkpoint MTA do that yet?), there should be a size
limit given.

I've taken my Checkpoint MTAs off-line, they were full of hassles and
really provided no security over the MTAs behind them, or I'd test it
myself.
