Checkpoint does not route. Its a firewall and its only routing function is
over vpn tunnels. If you want bgp or ospf or any other protocol and are not
running a nokia, check out quagga/zebra. www.quagga.org or www.zebra.org. (Its
the same thing, but the project forked. Quagga is more recent and has some
enhancments that zebra project hasn't/won't add. If you are running on a *nix
platform you can run this package to get ospf/bgp/rip/ripng/ospfv6/and mbgp.
You can even get an IS-IS patch if you really wanted it. Its a nice package
that starts a daemon that listens on a port. You telnet to the localhost on
that port and you basically get a cisco console. Command syntax and setup is
identical to Cisco so if you know one you'll know this. Zebra is also
available as a commercial package called zebos, its the same zebra with alot of
enhancements. Or you can try to run routed but as it is a complete commercial
package now, your not going to find any online documentation (or nothing worth
anything). They do sell a routing package though, but don't know if its any
good. If your running windows, then I don't know and can't find anything to
help you there. The only protocols I know of are ospf and rip under RRAS.
