Hi all,
Has anybody managed to get a pptp connection to work properly through a
SecuRemote connection?
We have a number of clients using SecuRemote by itself without any
problems. We now have a requirement for these clients to connect to a W2K
RRAS service.
With the PPTP connection running through SecuRemote, everything seems to
work well for about 9 and a half minutes but then the SecuRemote
connection dies taking the PPTP connection with it.
SecuRemote must then be unloaded and reloaded and left for about 2 minutes
before it will work again.
When the PPTP connection is made to the RRAS server, the default gateway
on the client is set to the local RRAS assigned address. If I put a
static route on the client pointing the IP of our firewall to the original
default gateway then the connection does not die.
If this is the problem though, it seems strange that the connection stays
up for 9.5 minutes without the route being there??
We are using NG FP3 and IP pool NAT to get around the hide NAT / PPTP
problem.
I have tried from a number of hide NAT and directly internet connected
client machines all with the same result. Also tried last few vers of
SecuRemote.
The firewall logs contain an entry for the PPTP and gre connections
showing the initial accept and then later they are both dropped - no
valid SA
Any clues would be most gratefully received!
Thanks in advance,
Dave
