Hi,

Check Point now has the IPSO version of NG AI R55 available. The Nokia
release notes say that only IPSO 3.7 build 32 is supported for R55, and that
IPSO 3.7.1 is NOT supported.

If any of you pioneers would post the results of your upgrade attempt to
R55, it would be greatly appreciated. We're looking to move the Windows 2000
management server and the Nokia IP530 from NG FP3 HFA313 directly to R55.
I'm planning on upgrading IPSO from 3.6 to 3.7 build 32 as well as taking
the management server to R55, then waiting a week or so to see if anything
crops up before I upgrade the IP530. We're using SecureClient and the
internal certificate authority extensively, so I'm a tad hesitant to plunge
right in.

I did see two Nokia support notes regarding problems upgrading to AI. One of
them said that you have to disable the Policy Server and User Authority
packages prior to the upgrade and the other said there have been memory
leaks and crashes when upgrading to AI as opposed to doing a clean install.
This second one suggested wiping out the previous Check Point installation,
which I am certainly loathe to do. A prime reason we bought Nokia was to be
able to keep prior versions for a rollback "just in case."

"Resolution 17086: Known issues in FireWall-1 NG with Application
Intelligence" and "Resolution 18074: Steps taken during installation of FW-1
NG AI may cause Memory Leak" are the articles. If anyone has any insight
into these issues, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

Thanks,

Ray
