I believe that the Packeteer Packetshaper can separate the chat from the
file transfer traffic.

Subject: [FW-1] blocking attachments in IMs
Hello all,
My company wants to support IMs (MSN and ICQ) but wants the ability to stop
the file transfer feature in these clients. My search has only lead to
Websense as the only provider of such a service. Is there any other
products or can checkpoint do this? I currently block IMs by blocking the
login servers.
Thanks,
Toan Ngo
