That's the way we have it set-up with the Management / SmartUpdate on a
windows
platform. I have succesfully upgraged the OS's on the Nokia's (appart from
these 2!)
and as we have only just purchased the SmartUpdate feature licence, the
Nokia's
had been built in the old fashion Command line (& Voyager) way.
and the only hotfix for R55 for IPSO 3.8 is not supported by SmartUpdate....
An expensive add-on I think, lets hope it proves more use in the
future........
NOTE: I have since manually upgraded the IPSO on these other two units, and
if I try to
push the IPSO image from the SmartUpdate GUI it states the version s already
installed?
Which means there cannot be much wrong with it... can there????
Is the word on the street still that I need to flatten the config and start
again on these 2 units?
Re-installing checkpoint & it's updates once more?
(Assuming IPSO will be Ok as is?)

SmartUpdate works if it is installed on a Windows platform and is trying
to
updae Nokia gateways, because that's how I use it. I do seem to recall
reading that it won't work if the management station is installed on a
Nokia
platform.

What I learned from class is that SmartUpdate does not
work with Nokia platform.
