I have the same problem, with the secure client. Have you seen that Checkpoint
have updated his release notes for the HFA_R54_412 and HFA_R55_408 :
"
An issue was discovered in HFA_411 and in HFA_412 which causes SecureClient to
fail
if the client's routable IP is changed while the VPN tunnel is open. The
following error
is also shown in SecureClient logging: "Tunnel Tests failure."
Workaround:
1. Wait for about 15 minutes. Then reconnect feature will revive the VPN tunnel.
2. Contact support to obtain an Hotfix (support AT ts.checkpoint DOT com)."

Well I finally received HFA_09 from Check Point and installed it this
morning.
The good news is that it corrected the decryption errors (VPN error code 03)
with our SecureClient users.
The bad news is that all site-to-site VPN's failed.
We had to roll back to HFA_08 since our site-to-site VPN's are more
important than the SecureClient users
(they can live with this problem for now).
Check Point Support is aware of this problem and is working on a fix for the
fix for HFA_08.
So, if you have either site-to-site VPN's and/or SecuRemote/SecureClient
users, better stay away from
HFA_08 and HFA_09.
