Unfortuanatly not as the client wants to be able to have a managment
server ready to manage the 2nd firewall in a disaster situation hence
the reason for the 2nd firewall.
I think I may have been correct in thinking that there is no way to
get around this without maintaining 2 seperate rule bases. The only
other option I can think of is having the 2nd managment server doing
nothing until a disaster and there would be a procedure for making the
2nd managment server the managment server for the 2nd module in the
event of a disaster, this should not be too hard?? as long as its well
documented step by step. In normal operation the 1st managment server
could maintain 2 rule bases which would be updated when changes are
made, really its the same thing becasue 2 rule bases need to be
maintained, its either centrally or on seperate managment servers.
Any other ideas will be appreciated.
