I have been testing connecting an Edge X16 to a Win2000 SmartCenter, R55
HFA09 that worked fine. I can start and
stop the SMS service manually with no problems (smsstart and smsstop).
Now we tried connecting the Edge X16 to our production firewall and cannot
connect to the SmartCenter (Service Center),
which is also Win2000 R55 HFA09.
I found that the SMS service was not running on the SmartCenter, but when I
tried starting it (smsstart) nothing happens.
We rebooted the SmartCenter, but still cannot start the SMS service, and get
a failure in the Win 2000 application log.
Basically both SmartCenters are the same (except for the rule base), so why
can't I start the SMS service?
Any ideas?
