As an alternative, you might want to consider scaling your mail server
more appropriately.  There are virus scanning packages that do not
cause much overhead.  You don't mention what platform or email server
application you run, or what is causing the "pressure", but most servers
these days scale pretty well, and upgrading your mail platform may be a
worthwhile consideration.

Hi,

Because my email server is under a lot of pressure, i'm thinking of
moving some tasks to the firewall, like the scanning of mime-types so it
deletes files with double extensions, and or sending emails to a
virus-server before sending them further. All these features are into
the firewall module but is this a good idea (not much overhead), I'm
quite new with checkpoint so can you people say what you think about
this idea.
