Hi all,
I have a question regarding NAT and ICMP protocol :
I am trying to make an outside host(with a public
address) responsive to ping requests from my internal
network(private addresses).
In order to do that, I need to specify a network
address translation rule to translate my private
address to a public one.
The problem is that when I try to restrict NAT rule to
ICMP "service", the Checkpoint interface tells me that
it is not allowed. But if there is "any" as service
in the NAT rule, my PING's are accepted and
translated.
Could somebody explain me why ?
Many thanks,
Rudi
