I'd upgrade to R55 first and then split it on the theory that R55 may have
some fixes that will make the split easier or safer. Don't know for sure.
You probably won't be able to go from FP3 to R6x but you can go from FP3 to
R55.

Looking hints on best order to do things. My current setup is:
Win2k based FP3 box. Management on same.
Where I want to end up:
Move management to different Win2003 box.
Replace enforcement point with different box, built with SPLAT.
Upgrade to R55? And/or wait for R6??
So questions like will it be simpler/safer to split the functions first
then upgrade. Or better to upgrade in place then split, or what is the
wisdom of the group.
