One of our System Admins who runs the latest Mac VPN client (NG R56 Build
178) on his fully patched panther 10.3.9 OS, has had issues reaching many
of our DMZ networks via ssh, ping, etc.
From the internal network, he could only access servers on 2 other local
private/NAT'ed networks routed through the FW (NG FP3). The FW logs did not
even see his requests to the networks he couldn't reach, which highlighted
to us that it is a routing issue. He could not access the other 4 local
networks touted through he FW (all configured the same to my knowledge).
We made sure the VPN client was off during all of these tests.
We un-installed the Mac VPN client and (shazam!) he can now reach all
networks. Of course he's SOL if he wishes to connect to the networks remotely.
Has anyone had this experience? Any tips on what we can do to correct the
routing issue with the VPN installed?
We only have licenses for securemote, not secure client, he says that there
is no install option to only install securemote, which seems understandable
as it is a Mac OS. Could this be an issue? l don't think so, but want to
make sure it's ok.
