Does anyone know if FW-1 had odd UDP timeouts and if it is possible to
set the timeout for UDP packets as on a failed client is see
amandad: time 116.431: dgram_recv: timeout after 10 seconds
amandad: time 116.431: waiting for ack: timeout, retrying
amandad: time 126.432: dgram_recv: timeout after 10 seconds
amandad: time 126.432: waiting for ack: timeout, retrying
amandad: time 136.432: dgram_recv: timeout after 10 seconds
amandad: time 136.432: waiting for ack: timeout, retrying
amandad: time 146.433: dgram_recv: timeout after 10 seconds
amandad: time 146.433: waiting for ack: timeout, retrying
amandad: time 156.433: dgram_recv: timeout after 10 seconds
amandad: time 156.433: waiting for ack: timeout, giving up!
This is random in that a clients that might fail one night may not fail
the next and as i know that everything worked fine before the switch to
SPLAT the issue is not with amanda.
seems the default UDP timeout is 40 seconds - I have upped this and this
issue has been resolved.
thanks
