Hi Dion

Did you set up your modem as to work in bridge mode? I saw some issues
related to adsl modems when working with vpn edge, maybe you should first
talk with dsl modem's provider. Most of the time, these cases were related
to adsl modems. Some of the modes were not correctly implemented in dsl
modems as the standart says so this kind of problems occurs.

I copied some notes from vpn edge's manual troubleshooting part to below.

Hope this helps.

Mehmet

I cannot access my DSL broadband connection. What should I do?
DSL equipment comes in two flavors: bridges (commonly known as DSL
modems) and routers. Some DSL equipment can be configured to work both
ways.
. If you connect to your ISP using a PPPoE or PPTP dialer defined in
your operating system, your equipment is most likely configured as
a DSL bridge. Configure a PPPoE or PPTP type DSL connection.
. If you were not instructed to configure a dialer in your operating
system, your equipment is most likely configured as a DSL router.
Configure a LAN connection, even if you are using a DSL
connection.

Subject: [FW-1] VPN-1 Edge PPPoE not working????

Hi

Up untill now I have a VPN-1 Edge X 16 working behind a Thomson (Alcatel)
Speedtouch 570i DSL router, where the Thomson logs-in to the DSL en does
NAT. This works OK but I want to remove te NAT in front of the Edge 1 as a
want to experiment with Site-to-Site VPN's. So now I've got a basic DSL
modem, T-Com's Teledat 331 LAN (Zyxel Prestige 650M), but I can't set up a
PPPoE connection a required by my DSL provider, the Edge 1 keeps saying it's
establisching the connection......but doesn't connect. The logs aren't
helpfull at all...there no info in there....
The modem works fine when I use a Windows XP system to connect with PPPoE.
I've tried firmwares 5.0.50 and 5.0.73 neither worked...
What am I doing wrong, PPPoE configuration is pretty simple, right, just
enter username and password and go.....or no go in my case....what could be
the problem here?

Dion
