Hello group
Is anyone else seeing this problem?
Every time I try to run Smartview Status, It dies with this series of
dialog boxes:
"Check Point SmartView Status cannot run because the Status ActiveX
component corrupted or not registered"
"Check Point SmartView Status: cpstat.exe - Application Error
The instruction at 0x7c80979d refrenced memory at 0x009523fc. The
memory could not be written"
(addresses may change from one time to the next, I haven't checked)
"Check Point Status Manager
Check Point Status Manager has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience (more info, option to debug...)"
I've tried reinstalling smart dashboard from CD, but it doesn't do any
good.
sk27103 mentions this same problem for smartupdate, and gives two causes
- either smartconsole components and/or reg keys are corrupted, or the
license for smartupdate is not installed or corrupted.
My co-workers don't have this problem, so it shouldn't be a license
problem. Anyway, there's no special license for smartview status, is
there?
I've reinstalled smartconsole, so that leaves registry keys as a good
possibility - does anyone know what keys might be the culprits?
