BUGS
     Files larger than 33488896 octets (65535 blocks) cannot be
transferred
     without client and server supporting blocksize negotiation
(RFC1783).

Sounds like the default is 512-byte blocks, and tftp uses only two bytes
to define what block number it's sending. 

I guess you need to find out if the tftp servers you're using support
RFC 1783.  The standard Linux tftp client should do (based on the man
pages at die.net).
