Let me take a guess. You're running Smartdashboard on windows 2000 Server
or Windows 2000 Advanced Server right? Furthermore, you're running Microsoft
Windows on a Dell machine.

I did have this exact problem a year ago. I found out that there were some
hardware defects with the Dell machine that I installed SmartDashboard.
I replaced that dell box (Dimension T500) with another Dell Machine (Optiplex
110)
and I never have problems since. By the way, on the dell machine that gave me
problems, it does not matter whether I run Windows 2000 or XP.

Good Day Firewall Gurus,

I have a problem with my management server, when I use the Smart
dashboard console to conect to view the rulebase, the console freezes
when it gets to the process of loading the rules.
This was working the day before but it seems the console has got fed up
today.
I have reistalled the console, rebooted the server and still no joy has
anyone got any ideas
