no, you can not compile your own drivers. The Check Point engineer who did
the presentation of NGX at the office (a couple of weeks before the official
release) said they would create a site where they would put new drivers. He
could not clarify at the moment whether this service would be free of charge
or not.
My $0.02: It had better be. In fact, there should be no reason why you
can't compile/rebuild on your own: SPLAT is based on Linux, and the Linux
kernel is licensed under the GPL. Re-distributing Linux as CP does, they
must make the kernel source available - otherwise they are violating the
license.
(Linksys ran into this a while back, and eventually, after much community
pressure, they released the source to their wireless access points.)
I might just open a ticket with the CP Advocacy group tomorrow and see
what they have to say about it.
