Hello,
while fooling around with NG one day I found that resetting SIC was also
resetting the 15-day trial license with the condition that no other licenses
were installed at the time. The problem is that in order to reset SIC you
must first remove all certificates issued by FW-1's internal SA using
SmartDashboard. I haven't tested it with NGX yet, so I am not sure if it
works with the new version. If your test management server has the same IP
address as your production one, you should be ok. However, if it is
different, then once you import your configuration your real licenses will
be imported as well. Even if you remove them with SmartUpdate (the only
console componenet that runs without a valid license) you will not be able
to login with SmartView Console to remove any certificates from your
objects.
