i agree from the checkpoint view but from the
hardware view (drivers) SPALT is a desaster:
sata raid / pata raid / modern scsi raid and some gigabit adapters ....

desaster is a hard word, but I agree that there
are problem with drivers in splat :-)
so I suggest you use RHEL 3 if you can't use splat with your hardware.

don't bother using other Linux kernels other
that SPLAT. SPLAT is the optimal adapted
platform for Checkpoint, if you want a linux based system.
