Well, it is Linux, so Checkpoint would be violating the GPL if they gave
you a binary only copy without making the source available on request.
The software that makes SPlat SPlat and not just another Linux distro
are probably carefully kept separate from the kernel and all other GPL
software, to avoid any copyright issues...
Back on topic - I spoke to a very helpful gentleman with Checkpoint tech
support (wish I could remember his name right now) - he informed me that
this isn't a PCI-express specific issue, but a driver issue - the
version of the e1000 chipset is new enough, and the e1000 driver in
SPlat R55 old enough, that that chipset wouldn't be supported on any
sort of card.
More recent driver versions do support the newer chipset, however.
So, I'm going to give NGX R60 a shot, and see how it goes from there.
