Hi,

1) I recommend running Checkpoint GUIs only on pure Windows or good Windows
emulators (VMware). Yes Motif is also an option but Windows will work best.

2) I don't know if this exists in FP3 but in NGX you can got to File >
Database Revisions > "View Version" and safely view the version. If it loads
with any problems then you most probably won't have any problem restoring the
DB. In any case since you suspect that the version hasn't been successfully
created it's best to fully backup your configuration (as always!) and then try
to restore the database vesion... you'll have you're backup ready in case you
encounter any problems.

Best regards,
Adam.

  I have following questions:

  1) Has anyone successfully deploy Checkpoint GUIs (MDG and Smartconsole)
running on Citrix? We're currently running Checkpoint GUIs on Citrix
and it is causing all kinds of problems. CMAs locked up for no reasons.
Authentication failed all the times. CMAs refused to stop/start from
the GUIs. The only fix to this is to stop/start the CMAs from the
command line. I've been told by checkpoint that Checkpoint GUIs are
NOT designed on Citrix environment. Is that a true statement?

  2) How can I verify that a new database revision control is successfully
created (other than looking at the popup windows from Checkpoint telling
me that a database revision is successfully created). We're currently
running Provider-1 NG Feature Pack 3 in our environment and more often
than not, I noticed that the file size "ckp_mgmt_version.tar.gz", under
the $FWDIR/conf/db_versions/repository directory is zero byte, meaning
that it does NOT work. I do not ever recall this problem when we are not
running the MDG and Smartconsole under Citrix. could this be a problem
for running the MDG under Citrix?

  TIA
