Not practicing log rotation results in a similar "eternity" to open and 
navigate in SmartView Tracker.  The recommendation is 100K entries.   with 3 
million entries when viewing over the wire it is painfully slow... on the same 
box as the logs, nearly as slow.  100K entries - instantaneous.  -all with 
"reasonable\current" hardware.  Filtering and resolving of names, addresses, 
and services seems to have no impact.

Emm... It seems you talking about SmartView Tracker. I don't have a
problem with that. The only problem is when I tried to get the file logs
list from Install & Start (Under Log Consolidator > Policy > Install &
Start), it takes me waiting forever to get the list! Hmm... what's wrong
with it? My logs are all kept under separate hard disk. All new logs are
stores in that hard disk.
