hi,

this "monitor fw1 status" is new since about ipso 3.7.

in older versions there was no feature like that. but in fact fw1 on ipso is a 
very stable software and I never had a problem with fw1 crashing ...

and in the unlikely case fw1 crashes, then the chance that the backup-fw 
crashes too (as it should be the same version) is good :-)
but with all other tools it's the same ...

That's what I used to think until I saw it with my own eyes.  In my lab I 
have an IPSO 4.0.1 pair with NGX HFA_02.  Run cpstop on the primary and the 
secondary will take over.  Run cpstart on the primary and it takes 
over.  Discovered it about a month ago.
