That is correct. CMA's log files are NOT included with this configuration.
I have never used R55w, but in R55 Checkpoint did not exclude the CMA's log
files. However; if this is an upgrade from an earlier version you or someone in
you company may have edited the mds_exclude.dat yourself.
I myself always did exclude the CMA log file from from the mds backup as I
automatically used to move the logfiles to SAN and do backup from there.
Anyway, if this is a new installation CP must have started with this from R55w.

this is what I am seeing in the default $MDSDIR/conf/mds_exclude.dat file on

Does it mean that whenever I run "mds_backup", the CMAs log files are NOT
included
in the mds_backup. When did Checkpoint start excluding CMAs log files from
mds_backup? I do not recall seeing this Provider-1 NG Feature Pack 3 unless
I go
into the mds_exclude.dat and modify the file itself.
