I believe you could degauss the drives. That is the real way to be sure
no data lives on the drive.

PROCEED WITH CAUTION:
Once degaussed, the hard drive will be unusable and will not be recognized
by the computer. In fact, the erasure is so deep that the factory written
servo tracks on the disk platters are also demagnetized leaving no
reference points for the read heads to key in on.

Note: Non-working hard drives contain all of the original data and can be
easily recovered. Degaussing provides the quickest (under 30 seconds) and
most complete erasure of all hard drives.

The not so good way would be to run an install and format the drives with a
fresh IPSO build.

Hi List,

due to our internal it security guideline we have the need to erase the
contents
of all hard disks on our firewall boxes in case we take them out of
production.

We use nokia platforms running IPSO.

Does anybody have an idea how this can be done?

Best regards
Matthias Hoppe
