Yes you would require an SNX license to use SNX on the Checkpoint gateway.

Yes if you plan to use it on a VPN-1 (Pro/Express/UTM/Power). Either
the one that comes with Integrity SecureClient, or the SSL Network
Extender (aka SNX) license by itself.
If you purchase Connectra, SNX comes included with it (no need
additional licenses to use it there).
