Neil,
1) Use cpclean to clean your solaris system.
2) Install NGxR60 and just select the Smartcenter ONLY. I've done it many
times
as late as 5 minutes ago. Look carefully. It does give you the option
of installing
just the management Server only.
3) Use upgrade_import to import your configuration.
