Hi,

I just tried to install a SPLAT R61 on a Sun SunFire X4200 (AMD
processor).

SPLAT complains that it does not have a driver for the disks.

The disks are serial attached SCSI, the controller is a
SymbiosLogic SAS1064 PCI-X

An Ubuntu boots, and uses the mptsas, mptscsih, and mptbase drivers,
but the mptsas seems not even to exist in the latest upstream 2.6
linux kernel, it's still an external patch (which Ubuntu applied,
that's why it works).

SPLAT however still uses an older 2.4 kernel and I still did not find
any way to make Linux 2.4 run with such hardware (besides the fact
that even SPLAT R61 asks for a floppy disks if a driver is
missing. Which of today's firewall hardware still comes with a floppy
drive?)

Does anybody know how to make splat run on such hardware?

Does Checkpoint work with a 2.6 kernel?

regards
Hadmut
