I have never installed SPLAT on that particular Dell model with that
particular NIC cards, but I can tell you that what you see listed there are
just configurations they have tried in the CP labs, it does not mean that
those would be the ONLY hardware configs supported.
If the server model is in the list as well as the quad NICs you plan to use
(BTW I have installed NGX with intel pro/1000 MT quad cards in a couple of
HP server models and they worked great), you can be pretty sure no issues
will come up.
Just check out for some foot notes on particular models that say you need a
particular HFA level to support some HDD array controllers. If your model
does not show that kind of notes, any NGX installer will do.

hey all,
we're considering taking the plunge from solaris to splat here and i
have just a quick question for those of ye who are running splat on dell
poweredge's ... does anyone have a configuration where they have a 2950
and two quad cards? from the following site,
http://www.checkpoint.com/products/supported_platforms/recommended/ngx/i
ndex.html, i see that they recommend dual port cards in the section for
the 2950, but they also state on the main page that certain other cards
can be used. i just wanted to confirm or have it confirmed, that if i
were to install 2 x intel pro/1000 MT quad cards in a 2950, i wouldn't
be running with an unsupported configuration?
thanks all!
