Cannot see anything relevant in the XP event log or the CheckPoint logs.
Difficult to imagine how there can be a network problem as this is a test
environment with just the two machines connected by a cross-over cable...

- Check eventvwr on the XP, probably a cp process exit(s) and restarts,
identify that one already, may help in going a step further.
