Hello list,

I'm puzzled by the following behaviour. I have a SecurePlatform (the hardened RH Linux) and it's trying to load a module and not succeeding. I noticed it because run queue is permanently jammed at 1.00.

For starters, if I run top and filter out the non-idle processes I see:

 10:36:56 up 13 days, 15:13, 1 user, load average: 1.00, 1.00, 1.00
51 processes: 50 sleeping, 1 running, 0 zombie, 0 stopped
CPU states: cpu user nice system irq softirq iowait idle
           total 0.2% 0.0% 0.0% 1.0% 4.8% 3.6% 190.4%
           cpu00 0.0% 0.0% 0.0% 1.0% 4.8% 1.8% 92.4%
           cpu01 0.2% 0.0% 0.0% 0.0% 0.0% 1.8% 98.0%
Mem: 1025216k av, 495748k used, 529468k free, 0k shrd, 89804k buff
       351888k active, 45168k inactive
Swap: 2097112k av, 0k used, 2097112k free 155060k cached

PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME CPU COMMAND
  608 root 15 0 0 0 0 DW 0.0 0.0 0:09 1 insmod

And in /var/log/messages I see

Dec 22 10:00:40 fw-live modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module n
Dec 22 10:00:42 fw-live last message repeated 2 times

I don't where to look for something that wants to load a module, and a module named "n" sound pretty bogus to me. Does anyone have an idea how to find out more about this, and stop it from happening?
