There's an SK article on this from a few weeks ago. There's currently no
workaround other than Monitor Only or disabling it. There's supposed to be
an update to SmartDefense coming to fix it.

Hello all,
Vista RDP causes smart defense to trigger CAN-2005-1218. When enforcing
RDP connections under Remote Control Applications, Vista will not let
you connect. XP and Macs work fine with this protection enabled. Has
anyone seen this or have a work around?
