Isn't bridge mode among us allready? Maybe not on all platforms today.
New features are provided by a "plug-in" instead of having to do a version
upgrade. This is a huge improvement for me.
I think I need to read more about that to believe it will be the holy
graal defeating required updates.
SSL termination on the firewall external interface so the traffic can be
inspected by SmartDefense instead of having to be passed directly to the web
server.
SSL termination requires CPU power. And usually a lot of it. So I am
rather cautious here.
I just happen to be skeptical by nature. Check Point has not disappointed
my natural instinct too much in many regards. I prefer it over any
competitor still but adding to much features will not be benefitial in my
view and will have a significant impact on the horse power required to run
these features.
