If you need to check them for malware, up to date anti-virus, etc., you cannot use Check Point. The Integrity Clientless Security component is only implemented via an ActiveX.

I've used both Connectra R60 - R62 and Juniper's SA 2000 product. The Juniper box supports a lot more third party security product checking (firewalls, AV, etc.) and also has a built-in "WebEx" type of meeting capability. It also has a cache cleaner to automatically delete files deposited on the client during the session. (your licensing may vary)

If you don't care about checking the clients before they connect, Connectra is the better product as compared to SNX. And it's licensed for concurrent users, so you don't need near as many licenses. If you're going to allow Windows computers, there is no way I'd allow it without checking them first. I've seen too many failures where Connectra's ICS flunked them big time.

Hi Guru's

l think l understand the basics of the 2 products, but l'd like any actual users for their opinions of these products.

We have a number of Linux and Mac (all OS variants) users, as well as users who wish to access our services from various remote machines, and we'd like to be able to accommodate them via VPN over SSL.

Many services will be accessed via a web browser (Firefox, IE, Safari and older Mac browsers), but our more technical users will require SSH, FTP and other non web broswer based access.

Which would you recommend and why? Are other VPN over SSL products superior?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Alan
