What about putting in a cron entry to move in a new set of filter rules at midnight, and then back to the old one at 1am? Or maybe just shut down the web server during this period? Or move in a static web page saying "down for maintenance until 1am mountain time"? There are loads of ways to do this and using ipf may not be the best way. I would like to stop connections to my FreeBSD box from midnight to 1 in the morning from certain IP address for a database backup but I have been unable to find a way to do this. Is it possible?
