I am trying to decide on a Sun Server (current supported platform here at work) to run Nessus on. Will be running Solaris 10 aswell.

Whats the consensus on something like their T2000 server? Its a single proc, 8 core, 32 Threads server. Will nessus thread nicely on that? I know its only single proc but its 8 cores, each core has 4 threads so in effect its almost like having 32 single thread procs.

On the _paper_, Nessus should work very well on such a system.

However, we've had reports of a bug (that Sun is aware of) in the network driver of the box. Basically, under certain circumstances, a scan will crash the system.

Unfortunately, I do not have more details on this but will post when/ if I do.
