confusion on qmail control files

hi all

i have a configure a qmail server with ldap and added users in ldap. but i am confused when i should i add domains in virtualdomains and when i should add in locals

the server's hostname is mail1.mydomain.com
and i want my mail server to act as mail server for other domains also
like otherdomain1.com and otherdomain2.com

so my qmail control files are like this
me : - mail1.mydomain.com

locals:
mydomain.com
mail1.mydomain.com

rcpthosts
mydomain.com
mail1.mydomain.com
otherdomain1.com
otherdomain2.com

virtualdomains
mail.otherdomain1.com
otherdomain1.com
mail.otherdomain2.com
otherdomain2.com

but if i get the following error

if i add domains otherdomain1.com and otherdomain2.com in locals file i don't get the above error.
these domains are not local.

Please guide me
