Probably you have not configured a logging mechanism.

The page
 http://www.qmail-ldap.org/wiki/Full_Installation_Guide_-_IMAP_Server
doesn't explain the setup of multilog.

If you also have a pop3d running (as explained on
http://www.qmail-ldap.org/wiki/Full_Installation_Guide_-_Basic_Qmail_POP_Server)
then look at the "log" subdirectory (and the files in it) in your
pop3d-service directory and create the equivalent for your imapd-service.
