        As an additional example It can be a part of mechanism of "source
routing" cause it not exist in qmail-ldap :(

Of course,

        If I have some external users who need to use my smtp
cluster-servers as relay (with smtp_auth), I can forward their outgoing
(qmail-remote) traffic over other server and network than default and can
distribute outgoing load as it already does for incoming mail...

I think that I saw discussion in qmail-ldap maillist about this some years
ago, but it has no any result. :(

May I ask why you need it. I see no reason to forward smtp traffic if the
frontend machine can handle it as good.
