[Snort-users] Reducing snort binary size

I have compiled snort_inline version 2.4.5a and the size of
snort_inline binary comes to be 1844485 as given by ls -l.I need to
reduce the size of this binary.When I do an ldd on snort_inline it also
lists libpcap,but libpcap is not needed for snort_inline as far as I
know.Please help me out.
