Hi all. My apologies in advance if any information is missing here. Please let
me know how I can help diagnose.

I'm setting up a new OpenBSD 4.1 server with my standard install of djbdns which
I've been using for years on many other OpenBSD servers. It's a simple setup,
based closely on the DJB/LWdjbdns instructions.

First time I've ever had a problem -- tinydns refuses to start up. I get this
message in tinydns/log/main/current...

$ tail -3 /var/dns/tinydns/log/main/current | tai64nlocal
2007-05-20 22:02:49.341392500 softlimit: fatal: unable to run
/usr/local/bin/tinydns: out of memory
2007-05-20 22:02:50.371285500 softlimit: fatal: unable to run
/usr/local/bin/tinydns: out of memory
2007-05-20 22:02:51.401226500 softlimit: fatal: unable to run
/usr/local/bin/tinydns: out of memory

I've seen issues where tinydns "Cannot allocate memory", and that's fixed by
bumping up the -d value in the tinydns/run script. But no changes to that value
(or -m value), up or down, make any difference here. The problem occurs with my
usual data.cdb file, or even with empty data.

I'm running a standard daemontools install, the one addition being the
sigq12.patch, as usual. My djbdns install uses this "jumbo patch"...

  http://www.ro.kde.org/djbdns/mywork/jumbo/jumbo-p13.patch.gz

I've been using this exact same setup on other machines for years.

I'm isolating tinydns because all other daemontools services on the machine are
working fine, i.e. dnscache and all qmail services are perfect. It's just
tinydns which won't start up.

Machine details: dual-CPU Xeon 3GHz, 4GB RAM.
OpenBSD 4.1 (GENERIC.MP) installed from amd64 distribution and updated to
-stable branch.

Again, sorry if this isn't enough info... what else can I provide?

Any and all advice much appreciated.

Thanks,
Alex F.
