I now have an implementation that has been working for more than 24
hours.  Please feel free to test, taint, and criticize.

note: this isnt specific to djbdns except that we do a live query
instead of a status query, like i would have probably done for other
software.  This means that if the answers change from what we expect
them to be, bad things will happen.
