Depends on how much "synch" you're willing to spend. I've usually not
used any mount options for ext3 except user_xattr or perhaps acl if
needed on shared file systems. data=journal MAY help performance, you'll
have to figure by yourself -- IFF you think your system needs tuning at
all. My server boxen have been twiddling thumbs most of the day
oversized as they were, so I never botherd to tune.
One thing I tuned however was the usual rsize and wsize stuff (4 or 8 K
for me) on the actual NFS systems.
