Postfix works fine compiled for x86_64, but you are right there's
probably no special gain in using it.
I use the 64-bit compiled version of postfix at work on RHEL4 mainly
to avoid mixing 32- and 64-bit binaries. The OS is x86_64 mainly to
allow us to use applications like database servers to easily use more
than 4GB of memory with special kernels or configuration.
